Last Sunday morning a young lady entered my room with a complaint of her son with a behaviour problem. I asked her to remain in the seat and calmly talk to the problem. She continued that her son aged 16 years is withdrawn and keep always aloof. His outdoor activities are very much minimized except to the school and back home. He has rare friends and that too they do not visit him.
I asked her that how many days she talked to his son. Often parents do not talk much as they should do. Parents always find excuses for not complying that behaviour. Parents should talk to their children on the subject of human sexuality. But they don’t. They never talk openly and freely about the subject. We often find they talk very widely and intensively on the subjects like food and clothes.
Parents should not forget that ‘every child has a right to information and to expression of feelings that makes him comfortable, well adjusted and happy’.
In this context, one can find the importance of the role of sexuality education to all especially the parents and the children.
