Cinereous vulture spotted in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand
Cinereous vultures
Birds usually move from cold regions to warmer regions like India during winter seasons. As such the dark coloured large bird - the Cinereous vultures with tipped pink beak, migrates from the cold regions of Europe to warmer places. This winter these vultures migrated to India. Usually these birds migrate to northern parts of India, up to Rajasthan. But in this winter as a rare phenomenon and as a surprise to the bird watchers and researchers, the Cinereous vultures migrated to Hazaribagh, Jharkhand.
First time visit
On December 30, the Cinereous vulture was spotted along with three other endangered species in Hazaribagh by the bird enthusiast Mr. Sahib Shankar Goswami. The other enthusiastic groups also confirmed the sight of Cinereous vultures along with three other endangered species, white-rumpled and long billed Himalayan Griffon.

Smitha Pankaj, Divisional forest officer (Hazaribagh East) also confirmed the visit of Cinereous vultures along with Himalayan Griffon to this region for the first time from far off countries.
