So, finally, what do you mean by sex education?
Does it speak about ‘anatomy’? Does it teach ‘physiology’ of sex organs?
Yes! surely it speaks about anatomy of male and female sex organs. It also teaches physiological functions of sex organs of both. Definitely Sex education is not only included teaching of anatomy and physiology of sex organs but also the associated secondary sex characteristics as those develop during growth & development.
During adolescent stage growth & development of secondary sex characteristics of both male and female take place. Sex education speaks all the intricacies of developments occurring during the stage starting from ‘puberty’ till ‘maturity’- physical, biological, psychological, social and more specifically emotional aspects.
It also imparts knowledge about changes that take place in the emotional make-up related to sex thus determining individual responses to different life-situations.
